My name is Francesca Bonin, but to my friends I have always been La Bonin.
Like all serious things, LaBonin began as a game. I have always had a great passion for bags: I used to create them in fabric, with crochet, and finally in leather, having them made by skilled artisans.
I worked in a big company, LaBonin was a hobby. What turned it into a company was a lot of tenacity and teamwork. What I did together with my family: my husband advised and supported me, the expectation of my son Leone allowed me to dedicate myself to design and research, the birth of Livia inspired me to build and organise my brand. And with the latest arrival, Viola, the boutique at Via Vittoria 70 has also arrived.
Mine is a story of passion for traditional craftsmanship. An adventure that begins with the search for high-quality materials and first-class production techniques to create colourful, different, artfully made accessories that combine creativity with expert craftsmanship in unmistakable Italian style.
Did you know that all my bags are named after a special place in Rome? I wanted to create a personal map of the heart, tied in double-strand to my city, and populate it with memories, anecdotes, stories.

We work with two historic workshops in Rome that produce leather goods for high fashion houses.
Our bags are handmade by expert craftsmen, using techniques handed down from generation to generation. Every step of the production process, from the selection of fine leathers from the best Italian tanneries, to cutting, stitching and finishing, is taken care of down to the last detail to guarantee a superior quality product.

Many of our bags are unique pieces: this means that they will never again be reproduced in the same colour combination. I am talking about Belsiana, Borgognona, Circo Massimo, Clementina, Minerva.
